Day 13 – Short and sweet

Time: about 28 minutes
Feeling: Winded.

We’ll keep this one short and sweet. I got up later than I expected and ran my 5K route (well, short of it). After I did our group run on Sunday, I realized why I have such a hard time on my 5k route — it’s all hill. Well, mostly. If you’re not gearing up for one, you’re coming off of one. And the group run route is pretty much a straight shot so far (except for that  hill on the Henderson Bridge, ugh). So I shouldn’t be so hard on myself. Finished this run with a respectable time. Not my best, but not the worst either. Those hills get me!

Oh — one thing I forgot to put in Sunday’s post — eating before working out is the best idea ever. I ate a whole wheat bagel with peanut butter (read in a magazine it was a good way to start a workout, complex carbs and protein and such) and I really felt the difference. I.E. I didn’t feel like I wanted to collapse after running. So food is a must before running. Can someone write that on my forehead?
